L-ascorbic acid (the most potent form of vitamin c) works synergistically with antioxidants Vitamin E and Ferulic Acid to visibly brighten complexion, even skin tone and reduce pigmentation. When worn under your sunscreen during the daytime, our vitamin c serum helps ward off pollution and UV-generated free radical damage.

L-ascorbic acid can become oxidized when exposed to air, light, or humidity. This will reduce it's effectivness. Because of this we package it in an opaque, airless container. It's very important not to open the bottle.

Some individuals may experience a strong but non-irritating tingling sensation after application. If the sensation is too strong to tolerate, the formula can be mixed in with moisturizer before application.

How long does Smith Farms 15% Vitamin C, E & Ferulic Acid Brightening Serum last for?
We suggest using our vitamin c serum within two to three months of opening or six months if unopen.

Help, my pump isn't working!
Sometimes air gets trapped in the pump and it stops working. Because the vitamin c is sensitive to oxidization we package our serum in an airless bottle. The way it works is there is a small tube that sits in the product and feeds the spout. The bottom raises up as the product is pumped out to create an airless vacuum. If air gets trapped you can try turning it upside down and pumping it until the air is expelled. Another trick is to remove the plastic disk on the bottom of the bottle and push the bottom up to remove any air.

Can the high concentration of vitamin C irritate my skin?
Vitamin C isn’t known to cause skin irritation, but if you notice dryness, redness or burning, we recommend reducing application frequency, or mixing it into your serum or non-SPF moisturizer.
